Supporting Women's Economic Development
Mount Hope is Supporting Women's Economic Development by providing Individual Development Accounts for Women of the Bronx who are interested in starting or expanding a small business.
SWED is composed of three tracts, (1) women who are primarily Spanish-dominant speakers, (2) women who are interested in expanding or starting a childcare business, and (3) women who are just interested in starting their own small business.
If you are interested in starting or expanding your child care business, or if you are a Spanish dominant speaker or simply have an idea you want to develop into a small business, then you will want to join SWED.
To qualify you must be a low-moderate income woman with children and want to start your own business. You will be required to attend trainings in the evenings or Saturdays.

Goals and Objectives
SWED seeks to alleviate the financial instability of women in the community through the development of this initiative.
SWED will teach women skills and provide support to become entrepreneurs through a combination of one on one counseling with asset-building experts and workshops.
SWED will provide a supportive environment in which women and children can successfully save money and work towards developing a small business It has been proven that mentorship along with additional training opportunities help women to foster a positive financial outlook that will ultimately allow them to achieve a successful small business.
