Mission

Technology Programs at Mount Hope Housing Company aim to strengthen the community by providing residents with the resources and knowledge necessary to be successful in a digital society.

Vision

By offering affordable communication services and computer training, Mount Hope Housing Company enables its residents to integrate technology into their lives. Community members will gain vital skills necessary for success in today's job market as well as learn how technology can be used as an educational tool, informational resource and means of simplifying tasks.

Programs

Digital Connectors

Mount Hope's Digital Connectors Program is in its 2nd year. In the summer 2011 we added 15 new youths to the program ages 12-15. We had 2 students visiting from the Dominican Republc for the summer, and 2 community service students were added to the program. along with 8 returning students from the first year we watched this progam grow not only with students but with curricula and insructors. Our students learned how to write scripts, add music and songs to their videos, and 1 student produced and edited his own video. The program is a sucess asn as we lok ti the fall session we will partner with Project Ready to ensure our studens are prepared for college. In February we will be ading additional students, please stay tuned for upcoming events , sign up to volunteer, join and become a Digital Connector .

Open Computer Lab

Mount Hope provides Internet access to all community members on Tuesdays, Thursdays from 6 PM-8PM and on Saturdays from 10 Am to 3PM at the Mount Hope Community Center at 55 east 175th Street. The computer lab is instructor lead by Anthony Graham, all children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent for the first session. If you need assistance building your resume or you want to do job search online  stop by the Open computer lab.
